happy 2021
pantone, when they selected their two colours of the year for 2021, ultimate gray and illuminating, did so with the message of
fortitude, hope and the resilience of the human spirit
i’ve been away for the last two years, the spirit to write went to sleep as life ran like an unchecked rollercoaster. 2019 was a year of much change for me, 2020 for us all. monumental events like my father suddenly passing away, forever shattered what i knew about the every-day, the importance of importance and the breadth of human emotion. in the depths of that grief, bewilderment and fear some-how, in some-way shone
beacons of light filled with warmth, love and faith
which i humbly received and holding them reverently, placed them carefully over many a hurt. they will look after me for a long time to come.
as we close the chapter of this year, there is immense gratitude for all that we still have and that as a human race, we made it. as for 2021, i feel like tiptoeing into it so quietly, undisturbingly and softly, it barely registers as the clock ticks over.
it seems like every sentence for 2021 begins with ‘i hope…’ and so, i hope too for all of you and for all of us, a peaceful, healthy, quiet year, where we rebuild ourselves and each other. i leave with you a message i received on my birthday this year, which saw me through the next day of Dad leaving us and the year that was 2020…
but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31
