stepping out
the desert holds me. so do the mountains. and the sea.
majestic, solemn, peaceful.
a comforting hug.
the struggle with rootlessness and identity now quiet.
completeness. belonging. home.
but i daren’t breathe
fearful of shattering the illusion. the delusion.
as the pieces of my life-puzzle fit:unfit:fit together
questions answered-unanswered-unnecessary
hopeful, tentative, anticipatory
shifting sands
“do i dare
disturb the universe?”
note: the last two lines of my writing have been borrowed from the absolutely wonderful poem - The Love Song of Alfred J Prufrock by TS Eliot
